I'm not referring to the play attacks, I'm referring to the kind of attacks when she lays on my chest and purrs for 15 minutes...then all of a sudden bites my face hard. When I try to push her away, she only gets more aggressive about it by biting even harder on my face or arm.
I definitely know the difference between love bites, play bites, and attack bites. But why the face? How can I get her to stop attacking me while she's laying on me?
Thanks.
All cats do that. Trust me you'll know when she turns on you. lol. I have two cats at the moment one is a 10 year old female, Bitty. She is overly affectionate, and it gets on my nerves. If i try to push her away she will fight lol. My 1 1/2 half year old Siamese mix, Rocky is so Sweet! He takes baths (prefers showers), eats at the table while sitting in chair, sleeps in baby bassinet, has to be carried and walked around on your shoulder and has never disliked anyone. But he goes psycho all the time and freaks out for no reason.. .its just a cat thing. But I have heard Siamese mix have freak out moments more often.
I have a cat who was seized from a hoarding situation last year, who has the same issue. She gets overstimulated easily, due to lack of attention for so long. She gets SO overwhelmed by positive attention, she feels she has no other recourse to stop it, than to bite. The key to stopping the behaviour is not to give it a chance to happen in the first place. If your cat gets overstimulated after fifteen minutes, stop the attention before that.
Cats are pretty wild andwhy cats attack owners unpredictable. You can't quite guess how they'll react or play. I've had the same experience as well and it made me realize how much liked dogs. My friends cat was laying on its back just purring and looking playful and relaxed. I was petting him gently when all of a sudden he just bites down on my hand and scratches my arm with his back paws. I don't know. The cat might of been playful but I'm not sure if they know whats playing and whats not. Felines like to do they're own thing so its kinda why I like dogs. :/ But cats can be cool just as long as they don't scratch or bite.
Are you breathing on her? I've never known a cat to just randomly attack their owner for no good reason before. My cat will annoy me to death when she feels I haven't done something for her, but she will only go to bite me if I do something first. That goes for all of my cats, really. Pushing her away will only aggravate her more. What are you doing before she bites your face? Are you lying down? Are you petting her? The only reason my cat will bite my face is if she's either closer to my face than any other part of my body, or if she smells something on my breath. Did you eat something, drink anything, chew anything? After I brush my teeth my cat goes crazy because of the mint smell and she'll bite my nose on the rare occasion.
Bites like that really don't mean that she's playing. That is not just a normal thing that all cats do. Some cats do bite to be mean, or just out of spite. But it sounds like she does that only when she's been sitting why cats attack ownerson your chest. I would not let her do that anymore and take her off your chest before 15 minutes is up. Pay close attention to how she is acting right before she attacks: whapping tail, ears back, etc. She just might be aggitated after awhile. Alot of times they do show signs that they are going to get you. Good luck!
Ours don't do that and we've had 25 cats since we got married.
It is either something about you or the cat - don't know what to suggest except not let her lay on you. If that is the only time she does this, don't let her lay on you.
either your cat doesnt really like you or its his/her way of playing
i answered yours now please answer mine:
I think you do something that the cat doesn't like without realizing it.
maybe the cat dosent like you pushing it away.
Cats are crazy AV儿劣AV儿劣*.
she's just playing
becuz they are moody
arent cats like guardians of the underworld or something?
Out of all my cats, only one does that! Cats are predatory by nature, and so I've been told it's ok. I don't think it's ok, considering none of my other cats do it. I can tell when it's about to happen now, and I tell him no really loud and point my finger at him and give him a scowl. His eyes get big, his ears go back, and he gets that "crazy" look, but he doesn't swat or bite. I guess you have to find what works for you in preventing your cat from doing it.
